The clinic was established by the venerable Late Mr. Muthukumarappa Muthaliyar, whose profound understanding of Siddha botany and herbal preparation formed the bedrock of our tradition. His knowledge, painstakingly passed through generations, remains at the heart of every treatment we offer today.

The founding patriarch established the clinic in the sacred city of Kanchipuram with a deep reverence for Siddha botany and traditional herbal medicine. His encyclopedic knowledge of medicinal herbs, their synergies, and their applications to specific constitutional types (doshas) formed the foundational doctrine of our practice.
He believed that nature provides a cure for every ailment — one simply must know how to listen. This philosophy remains the guiding light of Agathiar Siddha Clinic to this day.
The second generation brought new dimensions to the practice. Dr. Ranganathan integrated the ancient science of astrology (Jyotish) into the diagnostic process — recognising that planetary influences, seasonal rhythms, and constitutional factors all play a role in an individual's health pattern.
Most significantly, he developed and perfected the now-legendary Agathiar Siddhadhi Ennai — a comprehensive herbal oil formulation designed for whole-body detoxification and dosha harmonization. This formulation has since transformed thousands of lives.
The third generation practitioner brings both the depth of inherited wisdom and the rigour of formal Siddha medical training (Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery) to patient care. Dr. Sudarvizhi has modernized the clinic's approach without compromising its authentic core.
She specialises in treating chronic conditions — including PCOD, Psoriasis, Diabetes, and Arthritis — using individualized protocols. Her approach combines traditional Naadi diagnosis with evidence-based understanding of disease, offering patients a truly holistic path to healing.

Dr. R. Sudarvizhi is a qualified Siddha physician (B.S.M.S) and the third-generation practitioner of the Agathiar Traditional Siddha Clinic. Growing up in an environment steeped in herbal wisdom, she pursued formal Siddha medical education before returning to practice at the family clinic — combining rigorous academic training with the deep, intuitive knowledge passed down from her forebears.
